It's a simple equation that the more pages you have in your website, the greater chance you will have more visitors! Why? The answer lies in changes that occurred in Search Engines like Google & Bing, that changed their focus a while back on making the subpages of a website a higher priory in search rankings than the main landing page … the thought is that if these subpages are more relevant to what a visitor is searching for, then why have them land on the main page?
The result has been a reversal of what your website looks like to a search engine - it's now like an upside down pyramid, with each of your website's subpages at the top and the category and main pages at the bottom.
There's an easy way to see how many of your website's total pages are actually in or indexed by a search engine. For Google - simply go to the relevant Google search page google, google, etc. and type in the search box "site:xxx" where the "xxx" is your website, such as site:closeupagency.com You will see a "results" count, which is the number of pages of content that Google have seen on your site the last time the Google robot reviewed or "spidered" your website. Notably, some of the results are not what you would characterize as true pages, being categories and tags, but are nevertheless regarded by the search engines as indexable content.
The strategy of extending your page count is often effected by adding a blog to your site … this means actually having a blog at your domain and not using a third party blogging framework which is not indexable as part of your site.
